More Than Just Therapy

Everyone has a unique journey in life and sometimes, it can be more challenging than others.

We've all faced situations that have pushed us into the corners of anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and more.

It can often feel like you're trapped in a cycle that's hard to break free from, even after numerous traditional therapy sessions and self-help books.

Imagine if there was a place that didn't just aim to reduce your symptoms but worked to enhance your capacity to engage and enjoy life fully.

A place where therapy is not just a service but a nurturing, empathetic community that supports you throughout your healing journey.

So you can live life without looking over your shoulder for the next panic attack, feel joy, love and laughter on a deeper level, and be more present in the moment.

Hi, I’m Jenny Korotko

Noticing a gap in the market for a comprehensive, compassionate and tailored approach to therapy, I founded JKorotko Counseling & Art Therapy, PC in 2010.

I wanted to provide a space for individuals where the focus was not just on a diagnosis but understanding the influence of trauma and tailoring a holistic therapy plan accordingly.

Helping You Feel Validated And Empowered

One of the most pressing problems in the field of mental health today is recognizing the impact of trauma on mental well-being.

Trauma-informed therapy is not just a service we provide; it's a lens through which we understand and approach all our interactions with our clients. We aim to address the symptoms, roots, and trauma that led to them.

As a team, we’re focused on being up-to-date on clinical approaches that align with trauma-informed care.

The practice has many creative arts therapists, somatic therapists, and people specializing in anxiety, stress and depression and very specific issues such as screen addiction, perinatal mental health, and neurodivergent adults.

The space we have for our in-person clients is furnished in a way that makes you feel as if you are in a cozy apartment, not a clinical environment.  We love to facilitate art therapy projects in our office and hope to provide groups soon.

Many of our clients tell us the environment, the energy, and overall feeling at JKorotko counseling is very down to earth.

Our clients feel validated and empowered because the clinicians all truly understand what it’s like to struggle and work through that struggle.  They feel safe within our care, and the first step to healing is feeling safe.

Guiding Principles: Shaping Our Approach To Healing

Providing a safe space

At JKorotko Counseling & Art Therapy, PC, we understand the courage it takes to begin therapy.

To honor this, we focus on creating an environment where you can feel safe and validated. Our team deeply cares about your feelings, ensuring that you feel seen, heard, and understood at every step of your healing journey. We believe empathy is a powerful tool in fostering trust and promoting healing.

Challenge conventional therapies

We recognize that many conventional therapy models are influenced by colonial systems and biases, which can often hinder the therapeutic process.

And we strive to challenge these biases and provide a truly trauma-informed environment. This means understanding your trauma and working with it, rather than against it, which allows us to tailor our approach to meet your specific need

Diverse and personalized care

We understand that each individual is unique, and their journey towards healing will be too. So, we offer a variety of services, including individual and group therapy sessions and workshops focusing on specific aspects of mental well-being.

By working with us, you're choosing a practice that values your unique journey and adjusts its approach to fit your specific needs. Our diverse and experienced team leverages various therapeutic modalities to ensure you receive the best care, aiming to co-create a healthier, joyful life that you fully deserve.
